Tenants and Chap team up for Aberdeen homes

Tenants First Housing Co-operative and Chap Homes have teamed up to build a circa 300-home scheme at the former Donside Paper Mill site in the Tillydrone area of Aberdeen.

The development, which will feature some 283 homes, will be one of the largest housing developments in the central area of Aberdeen. Just over 200 of the homes will be for rent or low-cost ownership.

Bill Burr, managing director of Chap Homes, said: “Donside is the largest housing development in Aberdeen in the past five years and we have been working with Tenants First for some time to bring the project to fruition.

“The first phase of construction at Donside is already well under way and I am sure the significance of it will spread well beyond the site boundaries in helping to regenerate the area. The total construction programme is 40 months, with expected completion in 2013.”
