Tenants Gallup at the double to Shard

Shard-of-Glass-thumb.jpegA double deal of lettings, totalling 45,600 sq ft at the Shard, SE1, have been agreed.

Flexible office space provider The Office Group has signed a lease to take two floors at Irvine Sellar’s skyscraper, while pollsters Gallup will take one floor.

TOG will take approximately 33,600 sq ft at levels 24 and 25 of the 1,016 ft-high tower, in what will be the company’s 20th work centre.

Founded 11 years ago, TOG is aimed at creative workers and entrepreneurs in the TMT sector.

International polling firm Gallup has signed for a 12,000 sq ft lease on a mid-level floor in the building.

TOG’s space at the Shard is expected to become home to dozens of small and medium-sized companies on a permanent basis. That total would more than double the number of businesses operating in the iconic building.

Some 13 lettings have now been confirmed at the 600,000 sq ft office element of the Shard to tenants including Warwick Business School and TMT M&G specialist Arma Partners, along with 8,000 sq ft to Tiffany. Together they account for about a quarter of the space on offer.

Sellar wants the building to become a media hub, after a letting to Al-Jazeera, along with deals with The Times and Wall Street Journal in the News Building, SE1, or ‘Baby Shard’.

The 72-storey tower achieved practical completion in November 2012. The letting to Arma Partners, at £80 per sq ft, smashed the previous rental record.

Knight Frank and JLL are the Shard’s letting agents. The building is owned by London Bridge Quarter.
