Construction tenders are set to leap ahead in the next two years by a total of 9%, predicts building consultancy Bucknall Austin.
Its latest Tender Price Review says that construction costs will bottom out during the next nine months. But tender prices will be forced to rise as a result of climbing material prices.
Costs in the Midlands and the North East will grow fastest, while the South East will be the slowest to recover.
The survey also shows that order books are more stable, with a small proportion recording orders for 12 months ahead.
