Terra and Hayfield partner on £500m Bedfordshire garden village

Terra Strategic has agreed a partnership with housebuilder Hayfield to bring forward a £500m Bedfordshire garden village.

Hayfield has agreed an option to acquire 25% of the 1,600 consented homes in the redevelopment of a 300-acre golf course. The land for the remaining 660 homes will be sold to other developers.

Alongside the housing, Terra has proposed a new primary school, neighbourhood centre and GP surgery, restaurants, retail and office space.

Managing director James O’Shea said: “This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a stunning new garden village fit for the future within this highly desirable area of central Bedfordshire.

“Since the easing of the Covid-19 lockdown, the demand for high-quality housing here has rocketed due to the enviable transport links and quality of life the area offers.”

Terra is currently working with the local authority as it reviews the Draft London Plan for Central Bedfordshire.
