Tesco and Booker complete £3.7bn merger

Supermarket giant Tesco has completed its £3.7bn share and cash merger with wholesaler group Booker.

The scheme of arrangement is now effective, and as announced on 5 February 2018, Charles Wilson has been appointed as chief executive of Tesco’s retail and wholesale operations in the UK & Ireland with effect as of today.

The company has also appointed Booker chairman, Stewart Gilliland, to the Tesco board as a non-executive director, with effect as of today.
