Tesco has proposed a new store in the 5,000-acre grounds of Broadlands House, near Romsey, Hampshire.
The estate is run as a business, with residential lettings, commercial tenants, investments and high-profile events. These, however, have not been enough to ensure financial stability, according to Richard Jordan-Baker, director of estates.
