Tesco is renegotiating contracts with over 3,000 suppliers, a move that could ignite a new price war if the company is successful in implementing price cuts as a result.
Among the moves Tesco is considering is limiting the number of fees suppliers are charged. In return, the company would be looking for improved and simpler deals with its suppliers.
The contracts affected would be for orders dated after Jan. 12.
