Tesco is to close its remaining Homeplus stores with the likely loss of 450 jobs.
The six stores – in Bracknell, Bristol, Bromborough, Denton, Nottingham and Preston – are being closed because of a failure to reach profitability targets, people with knowledge of the matter said.
The closures mark the retailer’s exit from the non-food venture, and come a matter of weeks after Tesco shut others in the chain, part of the closure of 43 stores announced in January.
