Supermarket giant Tesco is to open a 36,500 sq ft store at Rowner Renewal Partnership’s £145m regeneration scheme in Rowner, Hampshire.
The Rowners Renewal Partnership – a consortium between the Homes and Communities Agency, Taylor Wimpey, Gosport council, Hampshire council and Portsmouth Housing Association – gained planning permission for a supermarket last June as part of the overall plan for the area.
The partnership now hopes to receive full planning consent for the new Tesco store to open in 2012.
The supermarket will form part of Phase Two of the project.
