TfL picks GVA for Tube advice

GVA has been appointed to provide valuation advice to Transport for London on its proposed Northern Line tube extension to Battersea Power station.

The extension is seen as essential to support the transformation of Nine Elms and Vauxhall, a designated regeneration area on the South Bank.

As many as 16,000 new homes could be created as part of the regeneration project, with transportation a major issue.

GVA’s contract will include the valuation of land at Kennington to allow for the construction of new ventilation shafts; at Nine Elms where the intermediate station is to be built, and land for the terminal station at Battersea Power Station.

It will also advise on temporary land acquisition along the length of the route.

GVA director Charles Trustram Eve said : “Having worked with TfL, Wandsworth, Lambeth and landowners in 2010 on proposals for a tariff to fund new infrastructure for the opportunity area, it is exciting to now be helping in the delivery of the major element.”
