Transport for London has submitted planning applications for three London sites that will create up to 600 homes.
TfL hopes to raise £100m from the sites to reinvest in transport infrastructure.
The three schemes, in Nine Elms, Northwood and Parsons Green, are part of TfL’s wider strategy to develop its surplus sites across London as it attempts to generate £3.4bn in non fare-related revenue by 2021.
TfL said the first 75 sites could accommodate 10,000 homes.
Graeme Craig, director of commercial development at TfL, said: “The three planning applications we have submitted are the first step in our ambitious programme of development, which will create much-needed homes, jobs, offices and retail space across London.”
The Nine Elms development will see 362 homes built above the new Tube station, while 127 homes are planned in Northwood and 119 in Parsons Green.
The three sites will be developed through the property development partnerships announced by TfL in February this year. TfL is currently evaluating the bids of potential partners, and the final partner will be announced in the coming months.
