The Argyll Club is to offer free additional desk space to help its members social distance in its offices.
The free desks will be placed within corporate boardrooms, large meeting rooms and co-working and shared spaces as overflow for members’ existing offices to support their return to the office.
It will provide 50,000 sq ft of extra space across The Argyll Club’s 38 locations in London.
The business is also going to be deep-cleaning all of its spaces, adjusting lift and stairway access to align with social distancing and offering PPE in all workspace reception areas.
Jean-Michel Orieux, chief executive of The Argyll Club, said: “The flexible workspace sector, like many others, must rethink its offer after this crisis. It is no longer a case of preference regarding the density of people within your office; it is now a necessity for public health.
“Throughout our 20-year history in London’s workspace market, we have always stood out for offering lower-density office spaces. In an industry where recent market entrants have driven a shift to much higher-density offices partnered with communal breakout spaces, our long-standing proposition of generous space allocation means that we are well placed to adapt to new working behaviours. Our initiative to offer members additional free space as they need it ensures that businesses can quickly get back to work while maintaining social distancing.
“As ever, supporting our members is at the heart of what we do, and so, in addition to aiding social distancing with extra desks, we are supporting our members with the sourcing and purchasing of PPE equipment for any who need it. We are preparing our spaces and our team to hit the ground running and do our bit to get London back up and running.”
