The Collective launches Harrow office space alongside co-living scheme

The Collective is to launch a shared office space at its Harrow co-living scheme, which will target local start-ups in the London borough.

According to planning documents, the developer will open the co-working space with 65 desks and three private offices and will market the space to businesses based in the borough first.

The Collective said it will keep charges low for the first year after launch to help businesses struggling during the pandemic. Workspace will start at £99 a month for a desk and £1,500 for an office. The company hopes to increase this to £150 per month for an individual desk and £1,800 a month for a private office after the first year.

The site will be launched alongside the developer’s co-living scheme in Harrow (pictured), which includes 222 bedrooms and received planning consent in 2018. The Collective said it also expects residents to take up some of the workspace.

“The private offices will be targeted towards local companies focusing on small/micro-businesses and start-ups which need cost-effective workspace on a flexible basis and would benefit the most from value-added services and community aspects,” the developer said.

The plans come amid a leadership rejig at the company as it shifts its focus to development of its consented pipeline. In May, chief executive Reza Merchant became chairman and former executive director James Penfold left the business. Former group development and operations director Simon Koster is now chief executive.
