The Collective wins planning for Stratford scheme

The Collective has received a resolution to grant planning permission from the London Legacy Development Corporation for its revised scheme in Stratford, east London.

Rejigged plans were submitted in August after the Collective waited for two years for the GLA to give consent for its 222-room co-living scheme having called it in following approval from the LLDC.

The new 22-storey scheme comprises 287 short-stay co-living rooms where members can stay from one night up to a few months.

There will also be 7,700 sq ft of workspace, including 3,450 sq ft of co-working space which will be let at 50% affordable rent for a 25-year period.

The PLP-deigned scheme also features a shared cinema, restaurant, gym and outdoor terraces.

Construction of the project is expected to commence at the end of 2020, with completion due in 2023.
