The Gym Group has hired Savills to advise on site selections as it plans to open 50 new gyms across the UK over the next three years.
The mandate is part of The Gym Group’s Next Chapter strategy. Chief executive Will Orr said: “We have identified the characteristics for high-performing gyms, and as we accelerate the rollout of quality sites, we are prioritising the best gym locations and delivering on our mission to give our members even greater access to our high quality, low cost fitness.”
The company cited analysis from PwC suggesting that the UK has potential for between 600 and 800 additional sites in the low-cost segment.
The Gym Group opened a net four gyms last year after a record 28 in 2022.
