E-commerce giant The Hut Group has agreed a deal to lease 51,000 sq ft of office space at Manchester Airport.
The deal is MAG Property’s largest office letting to date at the airport.
THG has taken 27,000 sq ft at the office building 4M, next to the airport’s train station, on a 10-year lease, and around 24,000 sq ft at Voyager on a five-year lease.
It is understood that the group’s shorter leases are part of a strategy to take a larger office campus at Airport City of circa 250,000 sq ft.
THG, backed by former Tesco chief executive Sir Terry Leahy, owns more than 100 websites selling fashion, beauty, health and lifestyle products, including Myprotein,The Hut and ProBikeKit.
Lynda Shillaw, chief executive of MAG Property, said: “The Airport City location is starting to establish itself as a digital business hub, taking advantage of the global connectivity on its doorstep.
“Airport City is able to offer scale in a mid-urban setting, being located between Manchester city centre and Cheshire. What’s more, we can tailor deals and afford our partners the opportunity to expand and future-proof their business needs.”
