Dominic O’Connor has been recruited to the new role, having previously worked as vice president for EMEA at Spirent Communications. He also spent more than a decade at Telefonica.
O’Connor joins TIG nine months after the company was bought by FTSE 250 flexible workspace provider IWG, previously known as Regus, for £321m.
In August, IWG, which leases buildings from landlords and then sublets the space on flexible terms, reported a larger than expected half-year loss of £70m. In November, Sky News reported that IWG had received several approaches from buyout firms interested in acquiring TIG, which brings flexible workspace providers and prospective clients together.
The CCO role in the UK has been created to lead the group’s growth strategy across both enterprise and digital clients. O’Connor will be responsible for identifying, developing and nurturing client relationships, from engagement with its digital platform through to strategic growth.
“With 20 years’ experience leading sales teams in the digital, IT and telco markets, and successfully delivering complex solutions for clients, I’m excited to bring my experience of scaling businesses to this growing company,” O’Connor said.
Lucinda Pullinger, managing director, UK, said: “Dominic’s highly effective leadership and specialist knowledge in growing and engaging teams aligns perfectly with Instant’s future-looking vision as it continues to cement its place as the world’s largest marketplace for flexible workspace.”
Instant Group’s clients include Prudential, Booking.com, Shell, Jaguar Land Rover and GSK.
