The Office Group circles Manchester for debut opening

The Office Group is looking to enter the Manchester market with an office requirement for at least 40,000 sq ft in the city centre.

Cushman & Wakefield is advising the flexible office provider, which is understood to be considering leasing as much as 100,000 sq ft.

Alongside the Manchester requirement, TOG is also considering taking space in Birmingham, as well as expanding its existing presence in Bristol and Leeds.

TOG has more than 15,000 members working across 33 buildings, 31 of which are in London.

Orion House deal

Last month, in London, TOG agreed to take nearly 40,000 sq ft at WELPUT’s Orion House in Covent Garden. In June, the company launched its flagship workspace at Tintagel House on the Albert Embankment.

News that TOG is seeking space in Manchester comes after a spate of deals by flexible office providers in the city.

Global co-working specialist WeWork opening its first offices outside the capital in 2017 at Allied London’s No 1 Spinningfields and another 44,000 sq ft office at Deka Immobilien’s One St Peter’s Square.

WeWork is considering a third site and has had discussions to partner with Amazon at Hermes Investment Management’s Hanover House in its NOMA development.

Brown Street deal

Other flexible office providers in Manchester include Work.Life, which took 12,540 sq ft at Boultbee Brooks Real Estate’s 30 Brown Street earlier this year.

TOG and Cushman & Wakefield have not yet responded to requests for comment.
