Grade II listed Hygrove House in Minsterworth, Gloucestershire, has housed a banker who lost his fortune, a naval captain and, more recently, care home residents.
It is being offered by SDL Bigwood guided at £425,000 to £450,000.
The 24-bedroom mansion was the former home of the war poet Frederick William Harvey.
The sale takes place on 5 May at Aston Villa Football Club.
