Retailer The Range is close to taking a 385,000 sq ft lease at a former Morrisons shed in Cribbs Causeway, near Bristol, which the supermarket has been attempting to offload for nearly a decade.
The space will be taken on a short-term lease as a stop-gap until the Range occupies a 650,000-750,000 sq ft new-build shed planned on a First Industrial site in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
Morrisons has been attempting to rid itself of the lease liabilities on the shed for eight years.
The Range will occupy the block for up to five years, until its longer-term design-and-build option in Wiltshire is completed.
Savills marketed the Cribbs Causeway building. The Range was unrepresented. Knight Frank advises on the Chippenham site.
All parties declined to comment.
