The rise of co-living

London-based housing start-up The Collective is aiming to take advantage of the growing interest in co-living, planning an 11-floor development that will comprise 550 single rooms, an area for co-working and 10,000 sq ft of shared space for its residents.

Co-living typically features short-term leases and one flat monthly fee that includes bills, cleaning, rent and any shared activities.

The monthly fee for accommodation in The Collective’s development, expected to be ready next year, is likely to be around £1,000. Community managers will be on hand to organise collective activities.
