Discount retailer The Works plans to open 60 new stores this year, slightly below the 63 stores that it added last year.
The company has 398 stores in the UK and is looking to increase that figure to 650.
The retailer of books, craft materials, stationery and toys recently opened a distribution centre that could support a 1,000-strong chain of shops. Online sales rose by more than a third last year.
