The government is to sell 30% of the Ministry of Defence’s built estate, according to outlines in the Strategic Defence and Security Review 2015.
The plans state that the current built environment “does not meet the needs of our modern Armed Forces” and that the estate will be reduced and made more affordable.
Land with the potential to develop 55,000 new homes will be sold at so far unspecified locations.
