There continues to be record levels of construction activity in Britain’s biggest regional cities, despite the uncertainty caused by Brexit.
There was a sustained or increased level of development last year in offices, homes, hotels and student housing in Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester, according to Deloitte. Its annual crane survey captures the volume of commercial property under construction.
A total of 88 new developments were started in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds last year, compared with 72 in the previous year.
