Thistle may sell 56 hotels

Thistle Hotels may sell 56 hotels as part of a review of its hotel portfolio.

Management said no decision on possible sales had been taken, but the group is open to offers for its three unbranded three-star hotels and four country house hotels.

Analysts believe these might be worth a total of £75m.

The properties include New Hall in Sutton Coldfield, believed to be the oldest inhabited moated manor house in England.
