International Thomson are diversifying their headquarters operations from Elm Street in London WC1 and have taken space in three other buildings.
The latest is 12,350 sq ft in the 37,000-sq ft Meridian House at 38 Hans Crescent, SW1. Thomson are taking the second- and third-floor space on a sublease from Britoil which expires in 2000. Their rent is £15.90 per sq ft.
The deal follows their acquisition of 36,280 sq ft in Heron Corporation and London & New York’s joint development at 100 Avenue Road, NW3, and also 3,155 sq ft in Town & City’s 30,820-sq ft 5 Princes Gate, SW7, at £17.50 per sq ft.
Meanwhile, Thomson are selling Elm House, 10-16 Elm Street, WC1, through Fuller Peiser, who acted for them on the acquisitions as well. No guide is being given as to the price of the freehold 50,000-sq ft building, but offers are being sought by February 13.
