Thornfield Properties plans a £50m redevelopment of Feltham’s town centre. Feltham’s 1960s shopping centre will be turned into a mixed-use development, providing 46,450 sq m (500,000 sq ft) of retailing, leisure facilities, offices and housing, and an 8,175 sq m (88,000 sq ft) food superstore.
Tony Marcus, chairman of Thornfield, said: “Feltham town centre has been in decline for many years. This is the ideal scheme for us, further continuing our focus towards more town-centre development schemes and capitalising on our expertise in food, non-food retail and leisure development.”
Work is due to start next year.
Elsewhere, Thornfield is to start the first phase of its redevelopment of the Kingfisher shopping centre in Redditch. The £60m scheme, due to start before Christmas, will provide 23,225 sq m (250,000 sq ft) of mixed retail and leisure utilities above a new indoor market and transport interchange.
