Thousands compete in Property Tri

VIDEO: Knight Frank’s Tom Wade and Opus Land’s Kate Curran won the fastest male and female trophies in this year’s JLL Property Triathlon.

Wade recorded a time of 1:02:24 and Curran 1:11:01.

The sprint triathlon includes a 750m swim, 21.2km bike, and 5km run.

Now in its 9th year, more than 3,300 competitors took part in this year’s event, which was held on Friday at Dorney Lake, one of the venues of the 2012 Olympic Games.

As well as the sprint triathlon, the day’s events included the Property Swim – a 2.2km swim down the length of the lake, and for the first time, a Duathlon, involving a 5km run, 21.2km bike and then 2.5km run.

Sebastian Young was the fastest male in the Property Swim, with a time of 26:17. Sarah Moore took the fastest female trophy, recording a time of 29:31.

In the Duathlon, Estates Gazette’s Samantha McClary was the fastest female with a time of 1:15:00, and in the men’s category, Marc Leyshon from Wedlake Bell won the trophy at 1:05:17.

“We had 3,300 people signed up and the main Tri itself sold out in two hours, “ said JLL EMEA board member Richard Batten.

“We are fortunate enough that with all those entry fees, we are able to contribute £167,000 to Starlight, our corporate charity this year.”
