Three deals on the 39.66ha (98 acre) York Business Park, which fronts the York ring road, will be signed next week.
Whitbread is expected to confirm its intention to build a 40-bed hotel on 0.45ha (1.1 acres) of the park, which is a joint development by Evans of Leeds and Yorkshire Water.
In addition, terms have been agreed for a local operator to run a Mobil/BP petrol station on a 0.45ha (1.1 acre) site and a car dealer will start work in the Autumn on a 743 sq m (8,000 sq ft) show room. All the deals have been agreed on the basis of 150-year leases.
Ian McAndrew, director responsible for DTZ Debenham Thorpe’s York office, who is representing White Rose, said: “The exciting thing is that after years of false starts, the York Business Park is finally happening and the market is responding.”
McAndrew confirmed that the first phase of infrastructure improvements, which involves the enlargement of the roundabout on the ring road at a cost of £1m, will be completed this Autumn.
About 27.52ha (68 acres) of the 39.66ha (98 acre) York Business Park remains available for employment related uses.
