Three-way search as Emap splits business

Publishing group Emap has split its search for 70,000 sq ft of office space in three following a restructure of the business.

This week the publisher announced plans to change its name to Top Right Group and split into three standalone businesses.

The move means that Emap’s one-building requirement has now been changed to a 30,000 sq ft search for a prime West End site, which will house the management team and either i2i Events or information services division 4C Group, and two 20,000 sq ft requirements for its magazines business, which will target cheaper space in Holborn, King’s Cross and other fringe areas.

The prime West End search is focused on five properties: 5 Hanover Square, 36 Sackville Street, Air W1, 1 Kingsway, and 130 Shaftesbury Avenue.

EGi revealed last month that Emap had appointed Cushman & Wakefield to find it new space after online retailer Asos swooped in to take over its 90,000 sq ft HQ at Greater London House, NW1.
