Tishman Speyer has agreed to let 2,000 sq ft at the former Economist Group’s headquarters on St James’s Street, SW1, to Capital Fund Management.
The estate, previously known as The Economist Plaza, consists of three mixed-use buildings at 23-27 St James’s Street: Tower Building, Bank Building and Residential Building.
These total around 81,000 sq ft, anchored by a central plaza. The complex was renamed as the Smithson Plaza after Tishman Speyer bought it in 2016.
CFM will occupy the second floor of the Bank Building. The landlord added that it has also agreed lease terms with two additional tenants for 3,600 sq ft at the Smithson Tower and 1,200 sq ft of space in the Denham Building, although these were not named.
Dan Nicholson, head of UK for Tishman Speyer, said: “We were able to secure the contract with our best-in-class amenities and the strong relationship we have built with CFM, which also leased space from us in the recently sold Chrysler Building in New York.”
Gerald Eve and Bluebook advised Tishman Speyer on the letting.
