Discount fashion retailer T K Maxx and J D Sports have signed up for the anchor stores at Anglian Water Group (AWG) and Milln Gate Developments’ £10m Courts town centre retail scheme, Stockport.
Work will start early in the new year on the 5,570 sq m (60,000 sq ft) multi-level shopping centre following the recent granting of detailed planning consent by Stockport council.
TK MAX is taking 2787 sq m (30,000 sq ft) on the first, second and third floors while JD Sports is taking 1,022 sq m (11,000 sq ft) at lower
ground level and talks are on-going with a potential third tenant. Rents on ground floor units will be around £110 zone A.
David Royle head of retail at letting agents Lambert Smith Hampton’, says: “The Courts provides an opportunity in Stockport for larger space users to
acquire premises in a location close to quality retailers such as Dorothy Perkins, Adams, Hammicks, Allsports and Laura Ashley. The scheme will link
Merseyway with the Asda and Sainsburys superstores as well as Peel retail park.”
AWG Developments (formerly Morrison Developments) and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council signed a joint venture partnership agreement. They have since been joined by Milln Gate Developments Limited.
The scheme is due for completion in Spring 2003. Joint agents are Paul Nicholls & Co.
