TK Maxx moves into St Austell

White River Developments has signed discount fashion retailer TK Maxx at its £75m White River Place shopping centre in St Austell, Cornwall.

TK Maxx has taken a 26,000 sq ft unit over two floors at the 155,000 sq ft centre, on a 15-year lease at £225,000 per annum.

The shop is due to open in the summer.

The letting to TK Maxx is the latest in a spate of deals at the mall, which opened in October last year.

Superdrug, Game and regional bakery chain WC Rowe, have all signed for space in the last month, taking the centre to 85% let.

Sean Finlay, director at White River Developments said: “White River Place is fast becoming a major retail hub for the South West, with an enviable fashion line-up.

“We’re proud that the centre, is proving as much of a hit with shoppers as it has with the industry and that retailers are recognising the opportunity in this historically untapped area of Cornwall.”

Other tennants include Wilkinson, Peacocks, New Look and Frankie & Bennys.

CBRE advised White River Developments; Kitchen La Frenais Morgan advised TK Maxx.
