Clients looking for planning advice on major developments will have extra choice in the new year, as a new firm of experienced City lawyers enters the market.
Leading partners from King & Wood Mallesons, Herbert Smith Freehills and Gowling WLG will form Town Legal LLP on 3 January 2017.
Simon Ricketts from KWM, Patrick Robinson from HSF and Clare Fielding from Gowling WLG, all named as leading individuals for planning in the Legal 500 2016, will be joined as partners by planning barrister Mary Cook from Cornerstone Barristers, KWM managing associate Meeta Kaur and HSF senior associate Elizabeth Christie.
Town Legal is negotiating a lease for premises in the City and will focus on major mixed-use and urban extension schemes.
Ricketts said: “It will be great to combine our strengths and share our thinking, with a view to helping people through the planning process. We will all be learning from each other.”
“There’s probably never been a time when planning law is more complicated and subject to change.”
