London’s office market saw the best take-up for at least a decade in 2014, bursting through the 14m sq ft mark, according to Estates Gazette’s London Offices Research.
And three different agents made big moves into the upper rankings. Allsop, in eighth place, was the big winner last year, rising 10 places up the table and more than doubling its market share. The agent disposed of over 500,000 sq ft more than the previous year thanks almost exclusively to a deal with Amazon for 431,000 sq ft at Principal Place, E1. It was joint agent with Cushman & Wakefield.
GM Real Estate’s Docklands win boosted it from 15th place in 2013 up to ninth at the end of 2014. It signed EY at 25 Churchill Place, E14, one of the top deals of the year and a third of its total. BNP Paribas Real Estate climbed five places after signing Google at 6 Pancras Square, King’s Cross, N1.
The top three agents in 2014 remained identical to the previous year. CBRE held on to first place, but only by a tiny margin, and maintained its market share, while JLL and DTZ increased both the amount of space and number of deals done.
