
A record rent is to be set in St Giles, WC1, prior to the opening of the nearby Crossrail station in 2018.
Skyscanner is under offer on 30,000 sq ft at Exemplar, Ashby Capital and Bedford Estates’ One Bedford Avenue, in Tottenham Court Road, WC1, on a 10-year lease with a five-year break.
The firm, which operates an online flight price comparison and bookings site, will pay more than £90 per sq ft for the top three floors of the building, the highest rent achieved for an office tenant in the St Giles area.
CBRE and Savills are the agents on One Bedford Avenue.
Rental growth in St Giles is being caused by demand for grade A space near transport links such as Crossrail as well as public realm improvements such as Camden Council’s £41m re-routing scheme to change the one-way system on Tottenham Court Road to a partially pedestrianised tree-lined street.
