Batty quits Knight Frank
Neil Batty, Knight Frank’s head of international project marketing, has resigned. Batty, a partner, has been at Knight Frank for nearly nine years and carved out a career advising developers and house ºbuilders on global sales and marketing strategies in key markets, such as Asia and the Middle East. Previously, he worked at Montagu Evans and Savills.
Fraudster must pay up
Convicted property fraudster Alexander Williams has been told to pay back £477,474 within six months. At Southwark Crown Court, he was ordered to pay the confiscation order or serve a default prison sentence of three years. His convicted business partner Achilleas Kallakis’s confiscation order hearing is expected to complete by the end of the month.
Cain Hoy backs N1 project
Private equity firm Cain Hoy, which has tabled a cash bid to buy Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, has formed a joint venture on the £400m Islington Square project, N1. The Guggenheim-backed firm has partnered developer Sager on the 500,000 sq ft redevelopment, comprising 356 flats, shops, restaurants, offices and a cinema.
£13.5bn council stock unlocked
Council buildings could be used for £13.5bn of redevelopment over the next five years. Local authorities are expected to become more involved in redevelopment, according to the Public land, public UK report by think-tank Localis in partnership with Cathedral Group.
Roger Lister dies
Roger Lister, leasing director for London at Land Securities, has died after a sudden illness. Before joining LandSec in 2012, Lister was CBRE’s longest-serving city agent, spending 28 years with the firm, working on many high-profile deals. He leaves a wife and four children.
