Record rent on Oxford Street
Hong Kong-based Circle Group has let 409 Oxford Street, W1, at a new record rent for the street.
Polish cosmetics retailer Inglot will pay £1,113 zone A for a 600 sq ft shop.
The previous record was a letting to Swatch Group at £1,010 zone A in July 2015.
Inglot was represented by BC Retail; Savills advised Circle Group.
Sony mobilises for Chiswick HQ
Sony Mobile has secured space at Blackstone’s Chiswick Park, W4, for its new UK headquarters.
The subsidiary of Sony Corporation has agreed a 10-year lease on a 9,500 sq ft office in Building 10, moving from Hammersmith, W6.
DTRE, Savills, and CBRE are joint letting agents for Chiswick Park; CBRE acted for Sony Mobile.
Lancer signs Arcelor Mittal
Steel and mining company Arcelor Mittal has regeared its lease at Lancer’s Berkeley Square House, W1.
It has signed a seven-year lease on 26,000 sq ft. Montagu Evans, Bilfinger GVA and CBRE advised Lancer Property Asset Management; Cushman & Wakefield acted for Arcelor Mittal.
Pidgley’s pay drops to £21.5m
Tony Pidgley took home a total remuneration of £21.5m in the 12 months to April, including £19m of share options, according to Berkeley Group’s annual report.
The chairman of the FTSE 100 housebuilder saw a decrease of 8% on last year’s £23.3m package, although it is a substantial increase on the £3.8m recorded in 2013/14.
JLL toasts record Q2
JLL has posted record second-quarter revenues globally, despite a slowdown in its UK business ahead of the EU referendum.
The agent reported global revenue of $1.6bn (£1.2bn) in the three months to June 2016, a 16.7% rise on the $1.4bn recorded in the same period last year.
