House price growth slows
Annual house price growth slowed to 8.4% in the 12 months to June, according to the Halifax House Price Index. Quarterly growth rose slightly to 1.2%. The index uses sales from before the EU referendum and does not include any of its effects.
C&W appoints Deeley
Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Eleanor Deeley to head the residential department in its Birmingham office. Deeley was formerly a director in the development team at CBRE. In London, C&W has appointed Neil Batty as head of international sales.
Brum office take-up soars
Take-up figures for Birmingham’s city centre office market topped 500,000 sq ft over the first half of this year. The Birmingham Office Market Forum reported 36 letting deals in the city in Q2, totalling 217,295 sq ft.
Forrester to lead BCO
Cushman & Wakefield EMEA chief executive John Forrester has been appointed as the new president of the British Council for Offices. Forrester takes over from Argent’s David Partridge.
Radian plans Dorset PRS
Housing association Radian is planning a £27m PRS development in Bournemouth, Dorset. The Berry Court scheme, Radian’s fourth under the SMART brand, will provide 113 homes on a site used previously as a car park.
