Southwark council is to extend its tall building policy to include all parts of the borough that fall within London’s Central Activities Zone. This includes Old Kent Road, SE1, which has previously seen tall schemes rejected. Funds raised from new developments in the area will contribute to the proposed Bakerloo Line Tube extension.

Greenwood joins Internos

Jenefer Greenwood has been appointed as a non-executive director and member of the investment board at €4bn (£3.2bn) owner-manager Internos. Greenwood was previously head of retail at CBRE, chair of the Crown Estate remuneration committee, director of sales and lettings at Grosvenor UK & Ireland, and president of the British Council of Shopping Centres.

Omnicom sublets at Bankside

Advertising giant Omnicom is to sublet 370,000 sq ft from Royal Bank of Scotland at M&G’s Bankside 2 and Bankside 3, SE1. It will pay in excess of £45 per sq ft. The deal will enable Omnicom to consolidate its London estate, bringing 13 offices under one roof for the first time.

Homebase stores face chop

Home Retail Group plans to cut its portfolio of 316 Homebase shops by 25% in the next four years. The plan comes as Home Retail Group, which also owns Argos, looks to improve its digital offer.

Lucent gains Lincs consent

Lucent Group has received outline consent from North Lincolnshire council to build two new villages at Lincolnshire Lakes with the potential for as many as 3,000 homes. The Allies & Morrison-designed, mixed-use scheme on the outskirts of Scunthorpe includes retail and leisure facilities, will enable Scunthorpe United FC to submit plans for a new stadium, and improve local flood defences.
