Kings drops Strand plans
King’s College London has withdrawn plans to redevelop its campus at 152-158 Strand, WC2, after the 165,000 sq ft scheme was called in by communities secretary Greg Clark earlier this month. Plans to demolish 154-158 Strand and part-demolish 152-153 Strand were granted planning permission in May.
Partners enrol for UAL campus
Delancey’s client fund DV4 and APG are to form a strategic partnership with University of the Arts London to provide a new campus for the London College of Communication within its Elephant & Castle masterplan. Initial proposals will be presented alongside plans for the Elephant Road site, SE17, and the redevelopment of the Elephant & Castle shopping centre.
Genie wishes for developers
Gentoo Group’s Genie Home Purchase Plan is seeking partnerships with London developers to deliver 2,000 new homes in the capital over the next 10 years. The Greater London Authority will provide £40m of loan financing to acquire new-build properties and development land in partnership with developers.
KWE launches £300m bond
Kennedy Wilson Europe has launched a £300m unsecured bond. The bond is BBB rated with an initial 3.95% coupon, which the company expects to reduce over time to 3.45% by using currency swaps. The bond is expected to settle on 30 June and will be listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange.
Plans in for Edinburgh Registers
Chris Stewart Group has submitted a detailed application for the £60m regeneration of the former Royal Bank of Scotland HQ on St Andrew Square in Edinburgh. The project, known as The Registers, will feature more than 15,000 sq ft of bars, 61,000 sq ft of offices and 50 flats.
