The first “Domesday book” of surplus public land in London has identified sites that together have the capacity to accommodate 130,000 homes. The resource, published by the London Land Commission, comprises a map that identifies all publicly owned land, and provides details of each site’s name, tenure and size. It includes brownfield land owned by boroughs and other public organisations. Savills was appointed to compile its preliminary stages. See the map at: https://maps.london.gov.uk/webmaps/LLC/

Greystar buys former Glaxo HQ

Greystar Europe has bought a 26.5-acre site in Greenford, Middlesex, for a rental housing-led, mixed-use scheme. The site was once home to pharmaceutical companies GlaxoSmithKline and J Lyons & Co.

Savills appoints Scotland head

Savills has appointed investment director Nick Penny as head of its Scottish business. Penny, who joined the company in 1997 and helped set up the Edinburgh office, will become country head in a newly created role, supported by Charlie Dudgeon and Mark Fleming.

Montagu Evans hires Hues

Andrew Hues has joined Montagu Evans as a partner in the healthcare team. Hues was previously head of healthcare at Aitchison Raffety. He specialises in property valuation and investment advice for clients that include private and public companies, and public bodies.

Blossom Street

Last week (23 January 2016) Estates Gazette incorrectly reported that Colliers International was joint letting agent on British Land’s Blossom Street, E1, development. We are happy to clarify that Allsop is in fact the scheme’s joint leasing agent alongside JLL.
