Partners Group and development partner Marick Real Estate are to speculatively develop the 245,000 sq ft 80 Fenchurch Street, EC3. Demolition will start in June. The 14-storey, TP Bennett-designed grade-A office scheme is due to complete in Q1 2018. Knight Frank and JLL are leasing agents.

Green light for Three Snowhill

Ballymore’s plans for Three Snowhill in Birmingham have been recommended for approval. The 400,000 sq ft project includes a 16-storey tower, comprising 360,000 sq ft of offices plus 40,000 sq ft of shops and leisure. The original plan – mothballed during the recession – comprised a 43-storey residential tower and a 23-storey tower comprising a hotel and other uses.

WELPUT offers W2 pair

WELPUT has instructed CBRE and Strutt & Parker to sell 16-17 Connaught Place, W2, for £108.5m – a 4.75% yield. The adjoining buildings comprise 81,800 sq ft of office space and command a passing rent of £64.12 per sq ft.

Mills quits Colliers for Metis

Colliers International’s North West investment head and former JLL West End senior director Jonathan Mills is resigning from the firm after nine months in the Manchester office. He will join five former members of Tushingham Moore at niche retail, leisure and investment agency Metis Real Estate Advisors, which was set up earlier this month.

Welsh Rugby tries in Cardiff

The Welsh Rugby Union is drawing up plans for a major mixed-use development at the gateway to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Some 240,000 sq ft of commercial space is planned for the Westgate Plaza project, along with a 100-bedroom hotel and 75 flats. The WRU expects to finalise and submit plans by the end of the year.
