Torsion Group has formed a joint venture with Leeds-based property development and investment company Citylife to bring forward the 34-storey, £90m GDV Sky Gardens development in Leeds’ South Bank.
The delivery arm of Torsion Group, Torsion Construction, has signed a £46.5m build contract to deliver the project on behalf of the jv.
Sky Gardens comprises 284 one, two and three-bedroom apartments and includes amenities such as a residents’ lounge and gym.
Citylife is currently concluding remediation of the brownfield site, and Torsion Construction is due to begin on site in January. Completion is due in Q1 2026.
Dan Spencer, chief executive of Torsion Group, said: “Sky Gardens represents our commitment to creating amazing places for people to live and easing the housing undersupply in Leeds city centre. It also shows our strong belief in the thriving Leeds economy and Torsion’s continued growth in the residential for-sale sector. This deal showcases our ability to work with partners to ensure that developments are funded.”
