Torus Developments has acquired the first phase of a 1,100-home masterplan in St Helens, Merseyside.
The phase, with consent for 220 homes, was previously owned by BXB Cowley Hill, a joint venture between BXB and Promenade Estates.
The jv had appointed Northern Land Agency to market phases 1 and 3 of the Cowley Hill masterplan in April 2023.
Phase 1, spanning 12.7 acres, was at the time being marketed for sale for offers of more than £15m.
Phase 3, with consent for 316 homes across 16 acres, is still on the market; in April 2023 the site was being marketed for £19m.
The masterplan for the site was approved in December 2022 and includes a hotel and 43,000 sq ft of commercial space that will be delivered in phases 2 and 4.
