A tower will form the centrepiece of Ipswich’s Cornhill after a Hall McKnight design was selected for a revamp of the town’s market square.
The design was chosen from five shortlisted entries by the borough council, Suffolk county council, Ipswich Central, UCS and Ipswich MP Ben Gummer.
The plans will cost around £3.5m to implement.
Depending on funding, work could begin in 18 months.
