Insurance giant Towergate is to take 30,000 sq ft at Schroder Real Estate’s 55 Bishopsgate, EC2.
The insurance broker has signed a 10-year lease at the building, where rents are understood to be £62.50 per sq ft.
It will occupy some of the 60,000 sq ft occupied previously by Brit Insurance, which paid £41.20 per sq ft.
The insurance company left in March after its lease expired. Schroder then refurbished the first and second floors and upgraded the reception before securing new tenants.
Schroder bought the 198,000 sq ft building from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in December for £187.5m – a net initial yield of 4.9%.
