The Only Way is Essex’s Mick Norcross has completed a deal to develop a West End-style hotel in the county.
The TV star has completed the purchase of the leasehold for the Grand Hotel Leigh-on-Sea.
He is now planning a £4.5m redevelopment of the building in Leigh Broadway, to turn it into a boutique hotel, expected to be delivered by the end of 2015.
It will comprise a spa, restaurant, piano bar, 20 bedrooms and a bridal suite.
Norcross said: “I have long admired this iconic building and dreamed of rejuvenating it to re?ect the original architecture. It has been my desire to bring the quality West End hotel experience to Essex, and I see this building and its location as the perfect opportunity to achieve my dream.”
