Car manufacturer Toyota will invest £240m in upgrading its plant at Burnaston in Derbyshire, with the UK government also investing up to £21.3m.
Toyota Motor Europe chief executive Johan van Zyl said the decision was a sign of confidence in workers and suppliers.
Van Zyl also said that continued tariff and barrier-free market access between the UK and Europe would be vital for future success.
