Toys R Us enters Ireland

Toys-R-Us-generic-THUMB.jpegToys R Us has signed for its first two stores in Ireland and intends to open a further eight in the country.

The toy retailer has signed a deal with Green REIT for a 17,000 sq ft unit at Westend Shopping Park in Blanchardstown near Dublin, which includes 7,000 sq ft of mezzanine space. An annual rent of €350,000 (£254,000) per annum has been agreed. The store will open in September.

It has also agreed with Green REIT to take a 17,800 sq ft unit at Parkway Retail Park at a rent of €200,000 per annum. The store will open in October.

Toys R Us now has more than 1,500 stores across 33 countries with more than 50 stores in the UK and Northern Ireland.

Savills and CBRE acted for Green REIT and Bannon Commercial acted for Toys R Us.
